Potsdam Fire Would Like to Remind Public, Burn Ban Is On Until May 14th

The Potsdam Fire Department would like to remind the public that the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) has put forth the annual statewide ban prohibiting residential brush burning from March 16th until May 14th. Mega Meat Raffle Fundraiser

The members of the Potsdam Fire Department are hosting a meat raffle fundraiser. The options are beef or pork from the Ortmans Farm for $10 a ticket.
The first prize is a 160 lb. meat box, either choice. The second and third prize is a 80 lb. meat box, either choice.
The drawing will be held during SummerFest on July 14th 2024 @ 4 PM.

Motor Vehicle Accident Closes County Route 59 for Several Hours

On Sunday, February 18th at 0210 hours, Potsdam Fire and Rescue were requested to the scene of motor vehicle accident at the intersection of County Route 59 and South Canton Road. New Rescue 14 Delivered to Potsdam Fire

On Monday, January 29th 2024, the long awaited new Rescue 14 , a 2023 Rosenbauer Commander was delivered to Potsdam Fire by Garrison Fire & Rescue Corp. This truck was constructed with an EXT extruded aluminum body, this apparatus features a Harrison 15Kw generator, a Command Light CL Series LED light tower, and a Bauer SCBA air fill system, and Hurst Edraulic tools. On Sunday, January 21st, 2024 at 0402 hours, Potsdam Fire was requested to respond tankers and manpower to a reported structure fire at 246 Hadley Road in the Hannawa Falls Fire District. At 0409 hours, Tanker 100 (J. Keleher) responded followed shortly after by Engine 80 (J. Bradish). On Tuesday evening, the door bell rang at the fire station and 6th grader Avery Cook, her father Dan, and brother were at the door for a nice surprise for the fire department. Mr. Cook explained that his daughter receives chore money every week and that she has put aside one dollar from each week. Tuesday October 17th, 2023 was a busy day for the Potsdam Fire Department. The day started at 0807 hours, with an alarm activation at the South Canton IRA, 698 South Canton Road. Engine 80 (J.
