PFD Responds To Head On Fatality MVA

Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue and County Car 7 were activated at 1424 hours for a reported serious personal injury accident on USH 11 in the vicinity of Steve's RV. Engine 80, operated by FF Brad Andrus, responded at 1428 and arrived on scene at 1432 with Engine 49, Rescue 14 and Rescue 30 close behind. Members found a Jeep Laredo and Hyundai Elantra both off the road, having been involved in a head on collision. One victim had been ejected from her vehicle and the second victim was found to be deceased. Members established a safe area at the scene, assisted Potsdam Rescue and shut down USH 11, establishing a detour. The road would remain closed for several hours as the accident investigation by law enforcement took place. The road was reopened and all Potsdam Fire units were back in service at 2113 hours
