On April 11, 2018, at approximately 3:38PM, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 7 were dispatched to 7 Castle Drive for a report of a room filling with smoke.

At the time of the call, it was reported all occupants were out of the home.

Engine 49 responded immediately.

Upon arrival, Potsdam 36-3 (M. Bradish) assumed command. It was determined that a foam mattress had been laying against a light-bulb, which had been on for some time.

Members were able to remove the mattress and extinguish the fire within minutes of the call.

All units were back in service at 4:26PM.
