The Northern New York Volunteer Firemen's Association held its Annual Convention Parade on Saturday, June 9th in Copenhagen, New York. The Northern New York Volunteer Firemen's Association (NNYVFA) is a non-profit organization comprised of volunteer fire departments from nine counties in Northern New York. For more information about this organization, visit their website at http://www.nnyvfa.com.

The participants in the parade included departments from Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida, and St. Lawrence counties. Several local high school marching bands provided music for their respective fire departments.

The Potsdam Fire Department has a long tradition of participation in the NNYVFA Convention Parade. The Potsdam Fire Department is judged in the Class A category which is comprised of fire departments with 41 or more firefighters. Competition in the Class A category is very stiff. Led by Chief Danielle Rose, the men and women of the Potsdam Fire Department marched proudly and represented the department well again this year. Continuing our tradition of excellence, the Potsdam Fire Department finished 1st in the Class A Without Music category!
