One Car Motor Vehicle Accident Sends One Victim to the Hospital

On June 27, 2018, at approximately 5:48PM, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue and County Car 7 (B. White) were activated for a reported personal injury accident near 298 River Road, out of the village.

Engine 80, Rescue 14, and Rescue 30 responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a jeep on its side with victims still entrapped in the vehicle. Firefighters began gaining entry to the victims through the windshield. One victim was entrapped in the rear of the vehicle and had severe back pain.

Potsdam firefighters used the jaws of life to extricate the last patient from the vehicle were patient care was then turned over to Potsdam Rescue.
The one victim was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital by Potsdam Rescue were they were later transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
