On Monday October 28th 2019, at 1612 hours, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 7 were dispatched to a reported four car motor vehicle accident with one possible injury in the vicinity of 6927 State Highway 56. At 1613 hours, 36-3 (D. McGregor) checked enroute to the scene. At 1614 hours, Engine 80 (Maroney) responded and arrived on scene at 1618 hours. Rescue 14 (J. Keleher) responded shortly after to the railroad tracks on State Highway 56 and shut traffic down.

On scene, it was found there were three vehicles involved. Firefighters provided traffic control and shut traffic down on State Highway 56. Two patients were transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital by Potsdam Rescue. Firefighters assisted with clean up of the scene. The vehicles were removed by Skippy's Towing and Bob's Auto. The scene was investigated by New York State Police and is still under investigation. Potsdam Fire was in service at 1703 hours.
