Firefighter Training Classes

Most firefighter training classes are available FREE to area firefighters. The St. Lawrence County Office of Emergency Services coordinates Outreach Training Courses from the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control (NYSOFPC). These courses are delivered by local New York State Fire Instructors who are employees of the NYSOFPC.

St. Lawrence County Fire Chiefs interested in requesting a training course for their firefighters should complete the Training Course Request Form and submit it to the the St. Lawrence County Office of Emergency Services by fax at (315) 379-0681 or by email at firetraining@co.st-lawrence.ny.us. The New York State Academy of Fire Science located in Montour Falls is also an excellent location to attend training classes. These courses require a nominal registration fee. Meals and lodging are available for a minimal cost.
