Members of the Potsdam Fire Department were standing in front of the station enjoying the nice weather after returning from a standby at the Potsdam High School circus. Suddenly the sound of squealing tires and metal bending was heard. Members looked down the street and observed a car crossways of the road with steam coming from under its hood. Fire Driver Robert Pierce notified Potsdam PD Dispatcher Taylor of a 2 car M.V.A. on Main St in front of the theater, no other info available and fire dept would be enroute. Potsdam Fire Engine 48 and Rescue 14 responded the short distance down the street to the M.V.A. All occupants were out of the vehicle upon arrival and advised no one was injured. Fire Driver Pierce notified Potsdam P.D. that there were no injuries. Potsdam firefighters set up traffic cones to control traffic and spread speedy dry to control a large spill of coolant from one of the cars. Potsdam P.D. Patrolman Bates arrived to investigate the accident and Martin's Service Station responded with a wrecker and removed both vehicles from the scene. The accident scene was cleared and Potsdam Fire crews returned to the station to head back to the High School to stand by for the second part of the circus.
