As Potsdam's apparatus were responding radio transmission from Norwood units on scene indicated heavy fire conditions in the vacant building. Potsdam Tower 5 was instructed by Norwood command to set up at the rear of the building for defensive operations. Engine-80 supplied water to the Tower and handlines to protect exposures at the rear of the structure. Engine -80 was supplied it's water from a LDH relay and tanker shuttle. Hannawa Falls and Parishville Fire Departments were requested to fill in at Potsdam Station, and were later moved up to assist at the scene. Norwood Fire was assisted by West Potsdam, Norfolk, Madrid, West Stockholm, Waddington, and Canton Fire filled in at Potsdam. The fire is being considered suspicious and is being investigated by the St. Lawrence County Bureau of Fire.
