| In an effort to bolster our membership and spread the ever important fire safety message, members of the Potsdam Volunteer Fire Department set up an informational booth at the Clarkson University Student Activities Fair held in Cheel Arena on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 from 7:00 PM through 9:30 PM.
Firefighters Justin Perry, Joey Goliber, Aaron Farney, and Jeff Brown along with Chief Taylor manned the booth and provided Clarkson University students with information about the membership opportunities available with the Potsdam Fire Department and also provided several valuable fire safety pamphlets. This proved to be an excellent opportunity to introduce the Potsdam Fire Department to a large number of Clarkson students and staff.
The response was overwhelming. Our firefighters spoke with several prospective members and handed out over a dozen membership applications. Our display included a slideshow of numerous fire photos including training and emergency responses. We also took the opportunity to play a few training DVD's that really caught the attention of many in attendance.
A special thanks to all who took the time to stop and speak with us. We hope to hear from many of you. Another special thanks to our firefighters that took the time to proudly display the benefits and services provided by the dedicated members of the Potsdam Fire Department. |
