| Potsdam Fire has received word this morning that Tower 5 is completed and awaiting its final inspection by the truck committee. The committee will be leaving Sunday afternoon for Burlington Vt. where they will spend the night and catch an early Monday morning flight to Minneapolis St Paul. From there they will travel north to Wyoming MN. where Rosenbauer / General Safety is located. The committee will spend Monday and Tuesday reviewing the truck to ensure that it has been built to Potsdam Fire's specifications. Rosenbauer personnel will train the committee members on the operation of the new Aerial truck. The committee will drive the truck; operate the ladder, generator, scene lights and inspect every part of the truck. A "Punch list" will be kept of any problems that are found and they will be resolved before General Safety delivers the truck to Potsdam. A final delivery date has not yet been set, but is anticipated within the next few weeks. After delivery Rosenbauer will send a trainer from the Aerial Plant to Potsdam to train the Department personnel in the operation of the new truck. |
