| The Potsdam Volunteer Fire Dept., in cooperation with the Norfolk VFD, welcome the members of the NNYVFA to the 117th annual Convention. The convention will be held on June 6,7,and 8th in Potsdam. Convention will start on Thursday morning with the annual golf tournament to be held at the Potsdam Town and Country Club. Thursday evening, the Past Presidents dinner will be held at the West Potsdam Hall on the Blanchard Road. Cost for the diner will be $18.00. Friday morning will be the business meetings of the Association and Auxiliary. Meetings will be held on the Clarkson campus in the Cheel Center. Ladies Aux. in the Barben Room, and Main meeting in Cheel Commons. The Fireman of the Year ceremony and Memorial Service for Deceased Members will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 17 Lawrence Avenue. FOTY will be at 1:30, followed by Memorial at 2:00. Friday evening there we have tentatively scheduled a disaster drill / training opportunity, more details will be forthcoming, followed by a dance and casino night event at the Pine Street Arena, 43 Pine Street, scheduled to wind up at 11pm. Saturday will bring the Parade, which will begin at Market & Sisson streets, down Market, up Elm Street to the disbanding area. Parade will line up at 8:30am, and step off at 9:30 sharp. Following the parade, the annual drill team competition will be hosted by our neighbors at the Norfolk VFD, on their home course. After the races, Norfolk will host a block dance to close out the weekend.
