Potsdam Fire was dispatched to a report of fire coming from a wall at 25 Hamilton Street at 1638 hours. Engine 49 (Lozipone) and Rescue 14 (Enslow) were out the door shortly after being dispatched. Rescue 30 (Callahan) and a full crew were out a few moments later. Engine 49 hit the hydrant Hamilton and Division Streets and layed in to the 2 story wood frame house. 36-2 established command and had a crew checking for extension into the wall. The fire was caused by the owner using a heat gun to remove paint from the exterior on the front of the house. Members used a chain saw to cut a hole to gain access to where the fire had started and it was extinguished using a wet can. 36-1, 36-2, and 36-3 were on scene with 20 members present. Potsdam Fire was back in service at 1726 hours.
