2 Car MVA on Old Potsdam Parishville Road

On October 2, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 7 were dispatched at 1939 hours to a 2 car personal injury MVA, c in front of 743 Old Potsdam-Parishville Road . Rescue 14 (Capt. Lavoie) checked out of service at 1942 hours and arrived on scene at 1946 hours. Engine 80 (J. Corbett) responded shortly after. 36-1 established command and requested Parishville Fire respond to shut the down the Old Potsdam Parishville Road at the Allens Falls Road intersection. Potsdam Fire members shut down traffic at the intersection of the Wheeler Road, and Old Potsdam Parishville Road. The car involved collided with the rear end of the dump truck that was parked on the side of the road. On scene, members assisted Potsdam Rescue with removing the patient from the vehicle. The patient had non-life threatening injuries and Potsdam Rescue transported the patient to Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Members remained on scene to assist with traffic control while the New York State Police investigated the accident. Both vehicles were removed by Martins Towing. Command reopened the roads and released all units with Potsdam Fire returning to service at 2059 hours.
