Potsdam Fire and Potsdam Rescue were dispatched at 0636 hours for a reported fire in an electrical panel at 133 Leroy Street. Engine 49 (Fenton) responded and arrived on scene at 0639 hours. 36-10 (Lt. Bradish) performed a size up and advised all incoming units that the fire was out. Chief Justin Perry arrived and assumed Command. Firefighters set up smoke ejectors to ventilate the residence. At 0651 hours Command asked Central Dispatch for a second tone for man power and for Rescue 14 to the scene with the thermal imaging camera. Firefighters used the thermal imaging camera to confirm the fire had not extended past the area of origin. Command requested the St. Lawrence County Cause and Origin Team to the scene. Car 36 (B. Sullivan) responded and determined the cause of the fire to be a short caused by water leaking into the electrical panel. All units were back in service at 0849 hours.
