Potsdam Fire Responds to House Fire On State Highway 11B

On Thursday March 19th, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 7 were dispatched at 0457 hours to a reported structure fire at 583 State Highway 11B. Engine 80 (M. Bradish) and, Tanker 100 (J. Keleher) were out of service at 0503 hours. Rescue 14 (R. Robar) responded shortly after, while Engine 48 (J. Robar) responded to Commerce Park for water supply. Arriving firefighters made entry into the one story trailer and found a fire in the ceiling. An aggressive interior attack was made and stopped the fire near the point of origin in the ceiling. Firefighters then performed overhaul and salvage using tarps to prevent damage to furnishings. The thermal imaging camera was used to make sure there were no additional extension into the home. The roof was laddered, and members checked for extension into the roof assembly. The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical fault. All Potsdam Fire units were back in service at 0727 hours.
