Mutual Aid Structure Fire In West Potsdam

On Tuesday March 24, West Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 7 were dispatched to a reported house fire at 6 Barker Road. At 1157 hours, West Potsdam 47-1 requested mutual aid including an engine, tanker, manpower from Potsdam Fire to the scene, Norwood Fire for a tanker and manpower, and Madrid Fire to send an engine to draft on County Route 35 and a tanker to the scene. Engine 80 (J. Keleher) and Tanker 100 (M. Bradish) were out of service at 1159 hours, with Rescue 14 (R. Robar) and Rescue 30 (D. Callahan) responding shortly after with interior personnel. 47-2 arrived on scene with flames showing on the C side. Engine 80 was diverted to the Flat Rock Road and established draft. Once on scene firefighters performed an initial interior attack, quickly knocking down the fire, and performed overhaul and salvage operations. Parishville Fire provided the fill in at Potsdam Station with a tanker and manpower. The St. Lawrence County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene and County Car 14 (J. Gallagher) and County Car 36 (J. Sullivan) responded. All Potsdam Fire units were back in service at 1359 hours.
