On April 9th, at 0234 hours Potsdam Fire was dispatched mutual aid to Canton Fire as part of a tanker task force request. Potsdam Fire original assignment was to standby at Canton Station with an engine. Engine 80 (J. Robar) was out of service at 0247 hours. Due to the proximity of a high flow fire hydrant , the taker task force was cancelled and those departments were asked to provide manpower instead. Engine 80 was subsequently upgraded enroute to respond to the scene at 5407 County Route 27 per Canton Command (4-2 Erik Johnson). Engine 80 with a crew of three responded, with additional firefighters responding to the scene. Engine 80 arrived on scene at 0310 hours with members being assigned to interior operations including overhaul of the ceilings and walls in the fire area. Potsdam Fire worked alongside members from Canton Fire, Pierrepont Fire, Pyrities Fire, and West Potsdam Fire. All Potsdam units were back in service at 0528 hours.
