The below zero temperatures made for a busy week for Potsdam Firefighters. It started on Saturday February 13th with a chimney fire at 41 Pierrepont Avenue. At 16:48 a passerby stopped at the station to report heavy Black smoke coming from the chimney of the house. Later that evening at 18:24 Potsdam responded tankers and manpower to assist West Potsdam with a house fire. While Potsdam was on scene of the call in West Potsdam they also responded with the Village Engine to answer a call at SUNY Potsdam, Maxcy Hall.
In total for the week firefighters answered 21 calls, 6 of the calls were for burst pipes related to the cold weather.
