The members of the Potsdam Volunteer Fire Dept. extend our sincere condolences to the family of Ex-Chief Stephen J. Davis. Steve passed away yesterday, 2/18/16 in Burlington . He joined the PFD on 5/25/1969, and served as Chief of Dept. in 1977,78 and 79. Steve transferred to the Honor Roll on 8/6/1979

Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Home Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Funeral service will follow at 6:30 p.m. at the Garner Funeral Home, with Rev. Howard Venette celebrant.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Parishville Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Stephen is survived by his fiancée Heather Condon; sons Peter John Davis and Nicholas John Mearkley; brothers Terry (Jean) Davis and Francis Davis; granddaughter Alexsa Mearkley; and nieces and nephews Scott Davis, Tracy Green, Jennifer Mason, Brian Davis, Craig Davis, Kevin Davis and Tanya Davis O’Brien.

Stephen J. Davis was born Dec. 18, 1950 in Potsdam to the late John Davis and Genevieve LaRose.

He was the service manager at Blevins Motors for over 30 years. He then was a maintenance man at Meadow East Apartments for four years and then at Mayfield Apartments for four years.
