Three members from the Potsdam Fire Department and two members from Potsdam Rescue along with 13 other members of various agencies throughout St. Lawrence County spent their weekend attending an Ice/Cold Water Rescue training provided by the NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control. Members spent 16 hours learning rescue techniques in -16 degree weather, all while spending much of those 16 hours bobbing in the water. All 18 participants are now certified Ice/Cold Water Rescue Technicians and can better serve their communities!
