Motor Vehicle Accident on Pleasant Valley Road

On Sunday, August 11th 2019 at 0506 hours, Potsdam Fire, Rescue, and County Car 7 were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with a car that hit the railroad tracks with unknown injury with a female occupant at 68 Pleasant Valley Road. Potsdam Fire 36-1 (T. Jerome) checked enroute shortly after alarm time. At 0514 hours, Potsdam Fire Engine 80 (S. Corbett) enroute and arrived on scene at 0519 hours.

On scene, it was found the vehicle took down a CSX railroad crossing arm control and had heavy front damage. 36-1 requested for CSX to be dispatched to fix their equipment. Firefighters provided traffic control during the incident. St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department investigated the motor vehicle accident . The vehicle was removed by Skip's Towing. Potsdam Fire was back in service at 0640 hours.
