Deteriorating Road Conditions Lead to Motor Vehicle Accident on US Highway 11

On Saturday, January 25th 2020 at 1540 hours, Potsdam Fire and Potsdam Rescue were dispatched to respond to the vicinity of 7161 US Highway 11 for a reported two vehicle motor vehicle accident with the vehicles blocking the roadway. The roads at the time were covered with ice and slush due to the weather.

At 1543 hours, Rescue 14 (Ju. McGregor) responded along with 36-1 (T. Jerome) and 36-3 (Dan McGregor) and arrived on scene at 1550 hours. On scene, firefighters set up traffic control and directed traffic around the disabled vehicles in the roadway. The scene was investigated by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department. Johnson Towing responded and towed the vehicles out of the roadway. Potsdam Fire was in service at 1640 hours.
