On Monday, April 20th, 2020, at 1316 hours, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 were dispatched to a reported garage fire at 544 River Road. Central Dispatch notified that the garage was threatening the house. At 1319 hours, Engine 49 responded chauffeured by Paid Driver Jerry Robar. 36-2 (M. Bradish) responded and requested Norwood Fire and West Potsdam Fire with tankers and manpower to respond to the scene.

At 1326 hours, Engine 49 arrived on scene to a working garage fire. Firefighters stretched an 1 3/4" cross lay off of Engine 49 and began to extinguish the fire. Firefighters began salvage and overhaul on the garage as it contained three motorcycles and many tools. Cause and Origin were requested to the scene for investigation. County Car 20 (A. Barr) and St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Detective McCargar responded to the scene for investigation. The cause of the fire at this time is still under investigation. Potsdam Fire was in service at 1543 hours.
