Dryer Fire on Elderkin St

On Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at 8:50PM, The Potsdam Fire Department was contacted for a clothes dryer on fire inside a residence at 16 Elderkin St. Engine 49, chauffeured by Fire Driver Maroney responded immediately and arrived on scene 2 minutes later. Upon Engine 49's arrival, the fire had been extinguished by firefighters already on scene. Members removed the dryer from the house, and placed an exhaust fan into operation to remove remaining smoke from the residence. A thermal imaging camera (TIC) was used to verify no fire extension. Potsdam Fire was back in service at 9:26 PM
