On Thursday, May 28th 2020, at 2317 hours, Potsdam Fire was dispatched to the vicinity of Mcduff's for a reported trash can on fire. At 2318 hours, Engine 49 chauffeured by Paid Driver Maroney responded and arrived on scene at 2319 hours to find a garbage can on fire in front of H&R Block.

Firefighters used a wet can off of Engine 49 to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Firefighters were assisted on scene by Potsdam Police. Potsdam Fire was in service at 2340 hours.
