|Busy Thursday for Potsdam|

On Thursday, June 25th 2020, at 1034 hours, Potsdam Fire was dispatched to 48 Maple Street, Kinney Drugs for a reported mulch fire. Engine 49 chauffeured by Paid Driver Crowe responded and arrived on scene at 1037 hours. On scene, an active mulch fire was located and was spreading. Firefighter Kozak stretched a 1 3/4" hose line and began to wet the area down and extinguish the fire. Potsdam Fire was in service at 1110 hours.
At 1244 hours, Potsdam Fire was dispatched again to 48 Maple Street for a small rekindle. At 1244 hours, Engine 49 responded and arrived on scene at 1246 hours. Firefighters used a wet can off of Engine 49 and extinguished the small fire. Potsdam Fire was in service at 1301 hours.
At 1452 hours, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 was activated for a personal injury accident at 6698 State Highway 56, with a report of a UPS truck vs. motorcycle with a male unresponsive. At 1455 hours, Potsdam Fire Engine 49 (M. Maroney) responded and arrived on scene at 1457 hours. 36-3 (Dan McGregor) and 36-2 (M. Bradish) also responded to the scene.
On scene, firefighter provided traffic control. The patient was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital by Potsdam Rescue. Potsdam Fire was in service at 1529 hours.
To round the day out, Potsdam Fire was self-dispatched to SUNY Potsdam Crane Complex for a fire alarm activation at 1531 hours. Engine 49 (M. Maroney) and Rescue 14 (J. Mason) responded and arrived on scene to find no alarm activated. It was determined that testing the sprinkler system caused the alarm. Potsdam Fire was in service at 1550 hours.
