At 2243 hours, Potsdam Fire was dispatched to respond to Clarkson University, Sigma Phi Epsilon for a reported dumpster fire. At 2243 hours, Engine 49 chauffeured by Fire Driver Maroney responded. At 2247 hours, Engine 49 arrived on scene with flames showing from the dumpster. Firefighters stretched a 100' bumper line off Engine 49 and extinguished the fire. Firefighters overhauled the dumpster and filled it with water. Potsdam Fire was assisted on scene by Potsdam Police and Clarkson Security. The cause of the fire was unknown. Potsdam Fire was in service at 2313 hours.
