Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 were dispatched at 1035 hours to 11 Washington Street for a reported chimney fire. Engine 49 (R. Crowe) responded immediately and arrived on scene at 1038 hours followed shortly thereafter by Tower 5 (J. Keleher) and Rescue 14 (J. Farnsworth). 36-3 (Dan McGregor) and 36-2 (M.Bradish) arrived and decided to place Tower 5 in the driveway on the B side of the house to gain access to the top of the chimney. Firefighters used chimney brushes to clear the blockage from the chimney and monitored the inside of the home to ensure there was no extension outside the chimney to the structure. All units were back in-service at 1138 hours.
