Vehicle Fire Quickly Extinguished

On Thursday, June 3rd 2021, at 1506 hours, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 were dispatched to report of a vehicle fire at the intersection of Maple Street and Pine Street. At the time of alarm, Engine 49, chauffeured by Career Fire Driver Maroney, responded and arrived on scene at 1508 hours to find a well involved vehicle fire. Firefighters stretched a 1 3/4" front crosslay off of Engine 49 and quickly extinguished the vehicle fire. Firefighters made entry into the engine compartment and filled the compartment with foam to extinguish the fire completely. Firefighters were assisted with traffic control at the intersection by Potsdam Police. The operator of the vehicle was not injured and the vehicle was towed from scene by North Country Collision. Members cleaned and washed off the roadway after the vehicle was removed from the scene. Potsdam Fire was in service at 1546 hours.
