On Sunday, June 20th 2021, at 2027 hours, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car were dispatched to a two car motor vehicle accident in the vicinity of 28 Main Street. Engine 49 (M. Maroney) responded at the time of alarm and arrived on scene at 2030 hours to find a truck had struck the United Methodist Church. Firefighters directed traffic at the scene. Potsdam Police investigated the accident which is still ongoing. No injuries were reported and Potsdam Rescue was released upon arrival. The vehicle was removed from the scene by Johnson's Towing. The church sustained no damage other than sod and grass thrown onto the building. At 2133 hours, Potsdam Fire was in service.
