Porch Fire in Unionville

On Tuesday, September 14th 2021, at 0947 hours, Potsdam Fire, Norwood Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 were dispatched to a reported porch fire at 113 Park Street in Unionville. The caller reported that they had a fire on their porch overnight that was caused by a grill and the porch was still smoldering. County Car 10 was first arriving and advised that it was in the alley way between the houses. At 0950 hours, Engine 80 (J. Corbett) responded followed by Tanker 100 (J. Farnsworth). Norwood Fire responded with Tanker 77. First arriving firefighters were able to utilize a garden hose from a nearby house to quickly douse the smoldering wood prior to the arrival of the apparatus. All units were in service at 1033 hours.
