On Friday, October 22, 2021, Potsdam Fire participated in Careers on Wheels at the Lawrence Avenue Elementary School. Potsdam Fire joined West Stockholm Fire, Hannawa Falls Fire, along with a Fire Protection Specialist and K9 from the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control. Representatives from New York State Police, Sheriff's Department, Potsdam Police Department, Border Patrol, DEC, and Potsdam Rescue also participated the event.

Firefighters brought Engine 48 to the school and provided students with tours of the engine. The kids were shown equipment on the truck and how it is used. Hopefully some of the students were inspired by what they saw and would consider one of the professions in their future. We would like to send our appreciation to the Potsdam School District for the invite to the event.
