Mutual Aid to West Potsdam Fire

On Saturday, November 6th 2021, at 1046 hours, West Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 were dispatched to 2505 County Route 35 for a report of a garage fire, threatening the house. At 1050 hours, West Potsdam Chief requested Potsdam Fire with engine, tanker, and manpower. Norwood Fire, Madrid Fire, and Norfolk Fire were requested for manpower and tankers to the scene. At 1100 hours, Tanker 100 responded chauffeured by Paid Driver (Jerry Robar) and arrived on scene at 1107 hours. Engine 80 (M. Bradish) responded shortly after with a interior crew aboard. The fire had spread from garage to house and quickly spread through the attic of the house.

On scene, firefighters worked with firefighters from Norwood and West Potsdam Fire to quickly extinguish the fire. Firefighters performed salvage and overhaul operations. The St. Lawrence County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene and County Car 12 (D. Weitz) and County Car 20 (A. Barr) responded. All Potsdam Fire units were back in service at 1504 hours.
