On Tuesday morning, Potsdam Fire Engine 49 was out at an alarm activation at Seacomm Bank, when at 0602 hours, Potsdam Fire, Norwood Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 were dispatched to 581 Sissonville Road for a reported structure fire. Engine 49 Chauffeured by Paid Driver Bob Pierce checked enroute, followed by Tanker 100 (J. Keleher). 36-3 Assistant Chief Dan McGregor checked enroute and arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire. West Potsdam Fire and West Stockholm Fire were requested for tankers and manpower to the scene. Engine 80 (J. Corbett) responded to the dry hydrant in Hewitville to set up draft to fill tankers. Rescue 14 (J. Mason) responded to the scene.

At 0608 hours, Engine 49 arrived on scene where firefighters stretched an 1 3/4" hoseline off of Engine 49 and made an interior attack on the 2nd story back corner of the house, where the firefighters extinguished the fire. Firefighters then overhauled and ventilated the building to make sure the fire had not extended inside of 1 1/2 story home. The fire was investigated by the St. Lawrence County Fire and Investigation Team. No injuries were reported and two adults that were living at the residence were assisted by American Red Cross. Potsdam Fire was in service at 1029 hours.
