On Saturday, May 14th 2022, at 0138 hours, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 were dispatched to the vicinity of 7601 US Highway 11 for a reported tractor trailer rollover. At 0145 hours, Rescue 30 (C. Frost) responded followed shortly by Engine 80 (S. Corbett) and arrived on scene at 0149 hours. On arrival, it was found a tractor trailer had rolled into the ditch off of US Highway 11. Firefighters assisted the driver with exiting out of the cab with an attic ladder. 36-9 (Mason) requested Rescue 14 respond with lights to the scene.

Firefighters assisted Potsdam Rescue on scene with the patient as the operator was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Firefighters on scene assisted with soaking up fluids on the roadway with absorbent pads. Route 11 Trucking was requested to the scene to remove the truck and trailer from the ditch. Firefighters shut down US Highway 11 at the village on Maple Street with Rescue 30. 36-4 J. Farnsworth then requested West Potsdam Fire who responded to the intersection of US Highway 11 and Dayton Road and shut the road down. This allowed the wreckers to remove the truck without any traffic flowing thru the scene.

Once the truck was removed from the scene, firefighters used a hose line off of Engine 80 to spray the debris and dirt off of the roadway. At 0450 hours, US Highway 11 was re-opened. Potsdam Fire was in service at 0509 hours.
