At 2344 hours, Engine 80 and 36-4 arrived on scene with nothing showing from the front of the structure. Upon arrival, a smoky haze was found throughout the house. At 2351 hours, 36-9 requested West Potsdam Fire with manpower to the scene. 36-3 (Dan McGregor) then arrived on scene and assumed command of the incident.

On scene, firefighters used a K12 entry saw to gain entry into the attic and then used a thermal imaging camera to locate the fire. Firefighters made entry into the attic from the kitchen with sheetrock hooks and pulled the insulation out of the attic that was on fire and extinguished the fire with a wet can extinguisher. Salvage and overhaul was performed and there was no water damage to the home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Potsdam Rescue provided fire standby on scene.
