On Saturday, September 24th, 2022, at 0520 hours , Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 were dispatched to 6789 State Highway 56 for a reported head on motor vehicle accident with personal injury and air bag deployment. Central Dispatch advised that the accident could be serious personal injury with entrapment. At 0523 hours, Engine 49 Chauffeured by Paid Driver Jerry Robar responded. Potsdam Rescue requested Parishville and Canton Rescue with an ambulance to the scene. 36-3 (Dan McGregor) responded and arrived on scene, and advised that all occupants were out of the vehicles. Once arriving on scene and checking on the patients, Parishville and Canton Rescue were stood down.

The roadway was shut down during the accident as State Police conducted their investigation. Potsdam Fire conducted traffic control during this time. Two patients were transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital by Potsdam Rescue. On scene, firefighters also cleared debris from the roadway. Johnsons Towing and Skippys Towing removed the vehicles from the accident scene. Potsdam Fire was in service at 0706 hours.
