Motor Vehicle Accident on Morley Potsdam Road

On Saturday, January 21, at 0004 hours, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the vicinity of 1736 Morley Potsdam Road. At 0006 hours, Engine 80 (B. Andrus) responded, followed by Rescue 14 (C. Frost). Assistant Chief Farnsworth arrived on scene, and assumed command. He then advised responding units that there was one patient out of the vehicle walking and it was in front of the Matthie Farm on Morley Potsdam Road. Engine 80 arrived at 0011 hours and firefighters performed traffic control until the vehicle was removed by Bob's Auto. A pole was damaged in the collision. Potsdam Rescue evaluated the patient , who was not transported. The scene was investigated by the New York State Police.

As Potsdam Fire was returning from the scene of the accident, they were dispatched at 0125 hours to a fire alarm activation at 109 Maple Street, Delta Zeta. Engine 49 (J. Robar), Rescue 14 (C. Frost), and Rescue 30 (B. Andrus) responded. It was found that a pull station was accidently bumped into. The alarm system was reset and Potsdam Fire was in service from both calls at 0148 hours.
