Annual Ladies Night Banquet

The members of the Department gathered on Saturday night for the annual Ladies Night banquet. The event was held at the Potsdam Elks Lodge. Approximately 30 members and their spouses / significant others attended, along with numerous guests from surrounding fire, rescue and law enforcement agencies. Chief Tim Jerome gave an overview of the past year, and then turned the proceedings over to our emcee for the evening Torey Russell, Chief of the West Stockholm FD. After entertaining the guests he then asked the Chief to come forward for several award presentations. Several members were recognized at this time. Brandon Bahr was selected as the "Rookie of the Year". Jim Corbett received the Chiefs Award for exceptional service. Leland Cota was recognized as the "Agitator". Ex Chief John Keleher earned the "Spring arm Award" otherwise known as the "I'll Drive" prize. Bob Robar and Jim Corbett received service pins for 45 years, John Keleher 40 years, Leland Cota and Mike Jerome Jr. for 35 years. Randy Webster, 30 years, 3rd asst. Jason Farnsworth 25 years, Sean Corbett 15 years and Brad Andrus 10 years.

The night culminated with the presentation of the Fireman of the year award. This years recipient was recognized for always being available as needed, taking numerous trainng courses, and working on equipment operator qualifications. All this while being a full time student at Clarkson University. The Potsdam Fire Department is proud to present this award to Cameron Frost.

The Department would like to thank the Elks Lodge for hosting our banquet, Todd Truax for DJ services and a special thank you to the members of the Canton Fire Department who provided coverage at Potsdam station, so we could enjoy the evening.
