It was a cold Friday night in January, when at 2311 hours, Parishville Fire and Rescue along with County Car 36 were dispatched to 738 State Highway 72 for a reported garage fire that was threatening another structure. At 2316 hours, Parishville 33-1 (Dude Cool) requested Potsdam Fire with all equipment and Colton Fire with tankers. At the time of the request, Tanker 100 (B. Andrus) responded. Followed shortly by Engine 80 (J. Keleher) and Rescue 14 (J. Farnsworth). At 2322 hours, Tanker 100 arrived on scene just ahead of other apparatus and deployed 200' of 2 1/2" hose to knock down the fire, and protect 1 exposure. Engine 80 arrived and assisted with setting up a dump tank and then began tanker operations. Parishville Fire, Colton Fire, and other Potsdam Fire units arrived on scene shortly after, and completed extinguishment and overhaul in the rear of the garage. Tanker 100 used roughly 1300 gallons to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire was determined by fire officials on scene. Potsdam Fire was in service at 0054 hours.
