Mutual Aid to Hannawa Falls Fire

On Sunday, January 21st, 2024 at 0402 hours, Potsdam Fire was requested to respond tankers and manpower to a reported structure fire at 246 Hadley Road in the Hannawa Falls Fire District. At 0409 hours, Tanker 100 (J. Keleher) responded followed shortly after by Engine 80 (J. Bradish). Tanker 100 arrived on scene at 0416 hours followed by Engine 80, with both units dumping one load of water each. Potsdam firefighters worked with Hannawa Falls Fire and Colton Fire on scene. The structure was well involved in fire when firefighters arrived necessitating a primarily defensive operation. Unfortunately, three dogs had passed in the fire as they were unable to get them out in time. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Potsdam Fire was in service at 0615 hours.
