Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue and St. Lawrence County Car 10 were dispatched to County Route 59 for a 1 car motor vehicle crash with possible entrapment on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 12:01 AM. Units arrived on scene and found that the operator of the vehicle was able to get out, however the passenger was still inside. Firefighters were able to use a Halligan bar to pry the passenger side door open, and remove the passenger who was treated by Potsdam Rescue members. Once the occupants of the vehicle were in the care of Potsdam Rescue, firefighters removed a small tree from the roadway that was uprooted due to the crash, and conducted traffic control until the vehicle was removed by Johnson' s Towing. Engine 49 and Rescue 14 responded, and were back in service at 1:19 AM
