At 10:19pm, Potsdam Fire was self dispatched to an odor investigation at 51 Market Street. Upon arrival, our engine crew had high readings on the multigas meter. Upon further investigation, a small plastic bin was found to be smoldering, with laundry and laundry detergent inside. The bin and contents were carried outside, carefully examined, and extinguished. The building was then ventilated by both positive pressure and ventilation fans. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries related to this event. Potsdam Fire was back in service at 11:10pm.
