| Firefighter Michael Boysuk, Frontier Hose Company 1, has just returned from the New York State Academy of Fire Science in Montour Falls, New York after completing the very intense two week Fire Arson Investigation course. This extensive hands-on course provides in-depth knowledge and skills necessary to thoroughly investigate fires from fire scene to the court room as outlined in NFPA 921. Includes fire dynamics, motives, scene documentation, evidence, case preparation and testimony. Students engage in a hands-on investigation that includes investigating, documenting and collecting evidence from a fire scene, conducting background checks, interviewing witnesses, case preparation, and testifying at a mock trail in front of a real judge.
Firefighter Boysuk will work with members of the St. Lawrence County Fire Investigation Team conducting fire investigation in the area in order to accumulate hours to receive his Fire Investigator II certification.
Congratulations on a job well done. Keep up the good work. |
