December 30, 2019

On Monday December 30th 2019, the icy weather made it a busy morning in the North Country. At 1023 hours, Potsdam Fire was dispatched to respond in the vicinity of 6817 State Highway 56 for a reported tractor trailer stuck across the road blocking traffic in both directions. Past Chief David McGregor arrived on scene shortly after initial dispatch and advised that Route 11 Trucking is going to be needed to be re-contacted for a 2nd tow truck. At 1036 hours, Rescue 14 (W. McLennan) responded and arrived on scene at 1045 hours due to road conditions.

Norwood Fire was requested to respond and shut down traffic at State Highway 56 and Pleasant Valley Road. Rescue 30 (S. Keleher) responded to State Highway 56 and Pleasant Valley Road and Norwood Fire was canceled by 36-4 (J. Perry). Firefighters provided traffic control and shut down State Highway 56 while the disabled tractor trailer was removed from the ditch and roadway by Route 11 Trucking. Potsdam Fire units were in service at 1138 hours.

Units: Rescue 14 (W. McLennan), Rescue 30 (S. Keleher)
