March 21, 2021

At 1719 hours, on Sunday March 21st 2021, Potsdam Fire and Norwood Fire were dispatched to 654 River Road for a reported grill on fire on a deck, threatening the home. Potsdam Fire 36-1 (T. Jerome) responded POV and arrived on scene to find the grill, fully involved and the fire had spread to the structure. 36-1 and a Norwood firefighter used two fire extinguishers to stop the spread of the fire. At 1724 hours, Potsdam Fire Engine 80 (J. Keleher) responded and arrived on scene behind Norwood Engine 42 at 1728 hours. Engine 42 pulled up the driveway and firefighters used a 1 3/4 handline to wet down the structure where the fire had spread to. Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to make sure it had not spread any further and that the fire was out. All units were back in service at 1813 hours.

Units: Engine 80 (J. Keleher) and Tanker 100 (J. Corbett)

Mutual Aid: Dual Dispatch with Norwood Fire
