By Fire Driver Mark Maroney
January 26, 2022

On Wednesday, January 26th 2022, at 1301 hours, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 were dispatched to 78 May Road for a shed fire, that was reported to be close to the house. At 1303 hours, Engine 49 Chauffeured by Paid Driver Jerry Robar responded. 36-2 (M. Bradish) requested West Stockholm Fire for tankers to the scene. At 1308 hours, Engine 49 arrived on scene to find a 25' by 25' shed that was well involved with fire. 36-2 then requested that West Stockholm send manpower instead of tankers. Engine 49 quickly made connection to the close by hydrant for water supply and firefighters stretched a 2 1/2" line off E49 and initiated fire attack. Engine 80 (J. Keleher) and Rescue 14 (J. Corbett) responded to the scene. Engine 80 fed Engine 49 with tank water. Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and perform overhaul on the shed. St. Lawrence County Fire Investigation Team was requested by 36-2. Car 36 responded for investigation, which is continuing. Potsdam Rescue provided rescue standby for the call. Norwood Fire stood by at their station for Potsdam Fire during the call. At 1503 hours, Potsdam Fire was in service.

Units: Engine 49 (J. Robar), Engine 80 (J. Keleher), Rescue 14 (J. Corbett)
