The Potsdam Community Band has decided to name the Potsdam Fire Department, along with the Potsdam Volunteer Rescue Squad, as beneficiaries of the donations they receive at their January Concert this winter. The Potsdam Community Band has been playing summer and winter concerts locally since 2010. It is comprised of a group of 75 players, all volunteers, and they will be performing their concert in Hosmer Hall at the Crane School of Music at 3pm on Sunday, January 18th. The Potsdam Community Band doesn't charge admission for their concerts, but they do take donations. This January, all of the donations will be divided between the two organizations. The concert theme is "Heroes Among Us," and the band be playing ten pieces of music, much of it expressing the "Heroes" theme. Both the Band and the Fire Department encourage members of the community to attend the concert to support the band, along with Potsdam Fire and Potsdam Rescue, and, above all, listen to some great music!
