| At 11:39am, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 responded to a report of a possible electrical fire at Clarkson University in Camp. On arrival, the engine crew confirmed heavy smoke in a mechanical room and discovered that a motor had burnt out. Power to the area was disconnected, and Clarkson maintenance assisted with disassembling the damaged motor. The fire was contained to insulation inside the motor assembly, which was extinguished. The building was ventilated using positive pressure and ventilation fans. Potsdam Fire returned to service at 12:46pm.
At 1:27pm, Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Rescue, and County Car 10 were dispatched to another incident. Dispatchers received a report of smoke filling an apartment at Midtown Apartments. Upon arrival, the engine crew confirmed there was smoke present and found that the cause was excessively burnt food. Potsdam Rescue transported one patient from the scene. Potsdam Fire was back in service at 2:01pm. |
